The Foundation Of Femme Fatale Moto

The Foundation Of Femme Fatale Moto

Femme Fatale Moto was created by myself, Jodie in August 2021.

When I got my motorcycle license in 2017 and went into my local motorcycle store and leather stores looking for gear to wear, I hated everything I saw. It was all very outdated in style, didn't fit the way I wanted it too or was basically just novelty with no actual protection benefits. Not to mention a lot of it was covered in pink and bejeweled.

There were some apparel brands I was coming across that I thought were awesome and up my ally style wise but again they were made for men by men. There wasn't any quality women's brands. I started to imagine the things I wanted to find and wear, which sparked an idea and a dream to be able to make them and share them with other women.

Life got in the way of me following through with that dream for a few years. In that time I've watched the women's motorcycle community grow exponentially and more women's brands have started popping up for the exact same reason (there is a massive void to fill). Seeing these brands take off gave me FOMO but also made me very happy. I love that we are starting to have more choices, and that more women are starting to ride and that women are succeeding in the industry.

Finally in 2021 I was able to start making these idea's I've had burning in the back of mind come to life, and the beginning of my dream come true.

I first came across the femme fatale archetype in 2008 when I had the words tattooed on me. I have always had a love for the dark and unusual, as well as for strong, badass women. So when thinking of a name and an aesthetic I knew immediately what I wanted to do.

What is a "Femme Fatale" ?

"Femme Fatale is a french phrase meaning "fatale woman". She is considered to be very attractive and likely to cause problems for any man that is attracted to her. Mysterious and seductive, she is the archetype of literature and art. Her ability to enchant and hypnotize was seen as being supernatural and is often described as having power akin to an enchantress, seductress, vampire, witch or demon. Having power over men and often leading them into compromising, dangerous and deadly situations."

 Modern Day Femme Fatale

A femme fatale symbolizes women empowerment, she is a strong, smart, confident, independent and powerful woman. She wears what she wants, acts how she wants, get's what she wants, and doesn't think there is anything a woman can't do.

 Strong Women Support All Women

We're leaving the mean girl stereotype in the past. Friendly supportive girl tribe only here.

"I wish more women realized that helping another woman win, cheering her on, sharing a resource with her does not take away from the blessing coming to them. In fact, the more you give, the more you receive. empowering women doesnt come from selfishness but rather from selflessness." - Selene Kinder
